Wapping I 1, Lowestoft Ladies I 4
LOWESTOFT Ladies travelled to Wapping, in the heart of London, in view of Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf.
They started strongly moving the ball around quickly creating early pressure, and on seven minutes Chloe McMorran won a short corner that was cleanly converted by a straight strike from Nic Pollard.
This gave Lowestoft belief and confidence and on 10 minutes Kate T.G had an excellent solo run down the left, into the D which finished with a superb drag flick shot that was saved by the keeper, but Chloe picked up the rebound and slotted the ball home.
Lowestoft’s third goal came from a clearance from Kim Armon, who found Kate T.G in space who knocked the ball across the D for Chloe to finish in a swift counter attack.
After Lowestoft reshuffled, Grace Lawrence impressed on her debut giving a solid performance. On 31 minutes Charlotte Holland and Nic stunned the home team once again, with short sharp passing in the centre, before putting Kate T.G through to strike the ball home.
Just before half time Lowestoft were reduced to 10 players, with Holly Limmer unlucky to see a yellow card and be sin binned for five minutes. Wapping took advantage of this and forced keeper Kate Bond to tip the ball onto the post, denying them a goalscoring opportunity.
Wapping stepped up their game with continued pressure in the second half, and managed to pull back a goal half way through.
With two more Lowestoft players being carded in quick succession the resultant nine players rallied to leave a strong rearguard to prevent Wapping scoring again.
PoM was Chloe for her excellent work rate and keeping her cool in front of goal.
