The sun was shining on Sunday morning as 11 members of Lowestoft Road Runners lined up among a field of 4,737 runners for the third Run Norwich 10k event.

Weather conditions made for a warm humid morning and the route seemed to find, and make the most of, nearly every hill in central Norwich.

The route, starting on Gentleman's Walk near the market place meandered around the main sights and streets of the city, including Chapelfield Gardens, St Stephens and Castle Meadow before a loop around Carrow Road.

Runners shortly had to battle their way up the hill of Rose Lane before making their way along Prince of Wales Road to Riverside Road and across Bishop Bridge to the sights of the grounds of Norwich Cathedral.

The hills weren't yet over though as runners still had to make their way back up Tombland and back up Castle Meadow. The race finished passing by the Forum and the finish line was outside City Hall.

First across the finish line for Lowestoft Road Runners was Lee Gooderham in 214th position with a time of 43:09. Matthew Reynolds was next to finish in 405th in 45:32 with Gary McDonald hot on his heels in 408th and a time of 45:35.

Next to finish was Shaun Kay in 46:27 in position 486.

Leading the ladies home for Lowestoft was Amanda Smith in 1,302nd (120th lady) with a time of 52:27. Aaron Smart finished in 53:48, position 1,497.

David Smith in 1,859th finished in 55:57, James Crisp was 1942nd in 56:27, Emma Garrard finished in 57:09 in overall position 2,069 (232nd lady).
