IN a fierce tackling and no holds barred contest, Lowestoft just came out on top by a narrow margin against Wroxham in front of 219 fans at Crown Meadow.

On 18 minutes Gary McGee bundled in the opener from six yards out. The match became niggly with home keeper Tom Marsden, making his debut, on top form to deny the dangerous Wroxham front men Paul Cook and Stuart King.

Wroxham skipper Graham Challen met a pin-point cross from full back Miller and equalised with a header on 71 minutes. Two minutes later the Town winner came when Jamie Godbold popped up with a shot that ricocheted back from keeper Scott Howie to Ross King who put the ball back into the net.
