Archant

It was a day to forget for Lowestoft Town’s two teams in the Cecil Amey Norfolk Alliance.

The first team faced newly promoted Bradfield in their first match of the season at the Denes Oval and never got going on an overcast afternoon.

They were skittled out for just 99 in the 31st over, with Nathan Garrod top scoring with 26 and extras the next highest scorer on 23. Bradfield made short work of that poor total as they cruised to victory with over 30 overs unused, skipper Chris Scannell leading the way with a hard-hitting 61.

Next up is another home match against the second newly promoted Thetford.

Lowestoft A travelled to Great Melton A in Division Five and were also well beaten. They managed to get up to 138, with Arun Nair making 55, but it was still nowhere near enough as the hosts lost just one wicket in chasing it down.

The seconds are away to Bradenham A on Saturday.
