AFTER Lowestoft Town Cricket Club’s first team’s scheduled start to the new cricket league season was halted on Saturday, Peter Sims’ side entertain Fakenham at Denes Oval in their first home fixture of the new Norfolk Alliance Premier Division season.

Last Saturday’s scheduled fixture away at Vauxhall Mallards was cancelled “due to the ground (at Brundall) being partly waterlogged” and the pitch “too wet,” Sims said.

Wayne Nixon’s Lowestoft A team are due to play their opening encounter in Norfolk Alliance Division Six tomorrow, away at Beccles A.

Dean Pierpoint’s Lowestoft B team are also due to play their first Norfolk League Division Four fixture of the new season tomorrow away at Winterton A.
