MICKY Chapman and Ady Gallagher finally got their man last Saturday morning with striker Matt Nolan transferring across from AFC Telford.

The striker was drafted straight into the starting line up and showed some neat touches, although clearly not match fit. It was another fine performance from the Blues that saw third placed Northwood ground down and finally well beaten by three clear goals.

Two scintillating goals from Jamie Godbold sandwiched a Gary McGee goal that followed arguably the best move of the day.

Tomorrow league action takes a back seat with attention turning to the FA Cup sponsored by E.ON with old foes Dereham Town the visitors to the Crown Meadow in the first qualifying round.

With Dereham bringing a supporters coach to the match another bumper crowd is expected at the Meadow.

Should the cup tie end in a draw, the replay will be at Aldiss Park on Tuesday evening.

Tomorrow also sees Lowestoft and Dereham meet at Reserve team level at Aldiss Park and to keep up a theme the respective Youth sides were also due to meet next Wednesday in the Ridgeons Youth League Cup. However with four players selected in the Suffolk County squad to play Bedfordshire on Thursday the game has now been postponed.

But the Youths are due to meet again the following week in the FA Youth cup and the week after that in the league.

The Reserves went on a goal spree last Saturday defeating Stowmarket Town Reserves 9-0 at Greens Meadow. Danny Mitchell took his total to seven in two games with a four goal blast, Christy Finch hit a hat trick and Jack Herbert the other two.

The goalscoring theme has also been taken forward by the Youths who defeated Gorleston Youth 4-1 at Emerald Park in the Ridgeons Youth League last week and then won 5-1 at Ipswich Wanderers Youth on Tuesday in the FA Youth Cup.

Against Gorleston the goals came from Jack Garrod, Christy Finch, Kyle Baker and Shane Risby. Against Ipswich Wanderers Garrod, Finch and Baker were again on target with Joe Marsden and Joe Clark getting the others.
