Miller replaced by Cole as Lowestoft Town’s Academy boss

Academy manager Josh Miller has left his role with Lowestoft Town and has been replaced by first team player Travis Cole.

“My two years at Lowestoft Town FC have been brilliant,” Miller told the club’s official website.

“I would like to thank all the staff, parents and supporters that I have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know.

“A big thankyou has to go to Gary Keyzor. who gave me a chance at the club when he really didn’t have to, and I will always be grateful for the opportunity he gave me.

“I wish Travis all the best in his new role and I am sure he will be a huge success as Academy manager.”

Meanwhile more teams are being recruited to participate in the six-a-side leagues at Barnards Meadow in Lowestoft, with free registration and kits available to all teams.

The league is run by Soccer Sixes who are the biggest FA Affiliated provider of small sided football in the country, boasting more than 300 leagues throughout the UK.

The action takes place on Sunday and Thursday evenings between 6 and 9pm and anyone over the age of 15 can take part.

Each week all teams will play ae 40-minute match which will be officiated by a qualified FA referee. All equipment is provided and league winners will receive a paintballing day out voucher and trophies and runners-up will be rewarded with trophies.

Entrants to this year’s Suffolk FA Groundsman of the Year competition could win a unique prize.

All entrants will go into a draw for the chance to spend a match -day at Portman Road with the Ipswich Town groundstaff.

The prize comes courtesy of Ipswich Town head groundsman Ben Connell, who will once again head up the judging panel for the competition.

Ipswich-based Ransomes Jacobsen will be sponsoring the competition, which is open to clubs in Suffolk who play at Step 7 and below, for a second season.
