Lowestoft Town will be hoping for some overdue home comforts when they welcome Braintree Town to the Amber Dew Events Stadium this evening (Friday, 7.45pm kick off).

The Blues have lost their previous three pre-season friendlies, albeit against some tough opposition, going down 5-1 to Norwich City, 4-1 to Kirkley & Pakefield and 2-0 to Southend Under-23s.

Their latest warm-up game is another tough one against a side who will be playing in National League South this season, after being relegated last term.

Ady Gallagher's side have another home friendly against King's Lynn Town on Saturday week (August 5) before opening their Bostik League Premier Division campaign with a trip to Leatherhead on August 12.

The Blues recorded their best result of pre-season so far on Tuesday evening when they won 5-1 against Thurlow Nunn League neighbours Gorleston at Emerald Park.
