IPSWICH Town boss Roy Keane has admitted that no new players are likely to arrive before next year.

Keane revealed that he is still tracking a triallist, believed to be Ibraihma Faye, a Senegalese defender who had a trial game for Town Reserves against Norwich City's second string a fortnight ago.

But there is still some way to go to get clearance for Faye to join Town.

"We will probably leave it until January," said Keane, with reference to any new signings.

"I've only spoken to one manager over the last few days. I can't see anyone coming in before January, although there is a possibility that players might go out on loan.

"We're still in negotiations over the triallist (believed to be Faye).

There is a time process, to do with all the paperwork, which would probably take two or three weeks.

"And I want to be careful that I don't overload the squad," added Keane.
