PLANS are continuing to take shape for a footballing bonanza at Walmer Road next month.

Stars from Norwich City, Ipswich Town and former Premiership favourites are all due to combine for a match against Kirkley and Pakefield legends, at the home of K&P on Sunday, May 15.

The game has been organised by former City winger Dale Gordon, as part of a four-game tour of Norfolk and Suffolk.

It’s your chance to see and meet fans’ favourites – including Gordon, Dion Dublin, Iwan Roberts, Dean Ashton, Robert Fleck, Darren Huckerby, Ruel Fox, Chris Sutton, Paul McVeigh, Jeremy Goss, Bryan Gunn, Mike Milligan, Darren Eadie, Rob Newman, Mark Barham, Craig Fleming, Gary Holt, John Wark, Jason Dozzell, Matt Holland, Russell Osman, Simon Milton, Kevin Horlock, David Johnson and Chris Kiwomya – as well as the likes of former Everton superstar Neville Southall and Ugo Ehiogu, who will make guest appearances.

“The K&P Legends Day is really taking shape now and I truly think that we will have a minimum of 1,500 guests at our hallowed Fortress Walmer on the day,” a Royals spokesman said this week.

Gates open at 10am, when the Legends Youth Cup will be contested by 20 young teams, with more youngsters joining in the fun between noon and 1pm.

“The main game between our Legendary K&P Vets and the Norwich/Ipswich Vets will commence at 3pm,” organisers said. “We will have several catering franchises on site including an ice cream van, hog roast, burger van as well as meals from our clubhouse and a joint club and Legends regalia shop.”

Tickets for the match at Kirkley are now on sale from the K&P clubhouse – costing £10 for adults and £5 for children/concessions – by calling 01502 513549, from Legends Events on 07545 034 375, or from Red Hot Media in Waterloo Road, Lowestoft, Peek’s Driving School kiosk opposite Lowestoft Railway Station, the Barber Shop in Market Row, Great Yarmouth and Simpson Skoda Garage in Suffolk Road, Great Yarmouth, from the K&P clubhouse in Walmer Road and on the gate on the day.

Associate sponsorship of this special match, costing £300, is also available for local businesses. You can give your company the chance to be involved in this match with an associate sponsorship package, which features six tickets for the match, cold buffet, a bottle of complimentary win, a replica shirt presented after the match, reserved seating during the game in the main stand and a displayed banner or advertising board around the pitch.

A special VIP package, costing £30 per person, is also available to mingle with your footballing heroes on the day. This includes admission to the match, a free programme, entry to the VIP post match party, a complimentary buffet and the opportunity to meet the players - however there are only a handful of spaces available, with places available on a first come, first served basis.
