Last weekend a record entry of over 140 teams descended on Denes High School's Community Sports Centre for the annual Waveney Youth FC two-day tournament.

Last weekend a record entry of over 140 teams descended on Denes High School's Community Sports Centre for the annual Waveney Youth FC two-day tournament.

Over 1,500 players and 3,000 spectators attended the event, which attracted teams from Colchester, Thetford, Harwich, Kings Lynn, Ipswich and Norwich as well as many local teams.

Sponsors were Cash Inn, Draka Cantors, National Express, Electro-Tech, Simpsons, O'Halleron Well Interventions, Farnell Clarke Accountants, Norwich & Peterborough Building Society, The Beach, Anixta and Harrod UK (referees) and Holiday Experts, Admiral Tees and East Coast Tickets (match balls).

Waveney secretary David Beecher said: “I would like to thank the referees, catering staff and all the other volunteers who contributed to such a great event along with the support of the sponsors.”
