The arrival of Chelsea youngster Shaun Cummings and Julian Kelly's return to fitness has left Reading with talented alternatives in that position meaning Rosenior will spend the remainder of the 2009/10 season with the Blues.
Reading manager Brendan Rogers said: 'Liam is in the final year of his contract and I obviously have to look beyond this season and construct a team for the future. Liam has been steady for us this season and hasn't been one ounce of a problem.'
Rosenior is set to arrive in Suffolk today and train with the squad for the first time tomorrow.
