Southwold Rugby Club is hosting an Under-21s festival on Easter Sunday, with teams from Colchester, Bury, Hadleigh, Ipswich, Woodbridge and Southwold taking part.

This will provide an opportunity for university students to return to their clubs and reconnect with their Colts’ team-mates both on and off the pitch.

The festival is supported by Eastern Counties Rugby and the RFU and kicks-off at around 11am on Southwold Common.

Off the pitch, the club is also organising a beer festival for supporters and players as well as beer buffs. There will be a barbecue and other hot food in the clubhouse.

Meanwhile a promising season for Southwold in London Three North East fizzled out in low-key fashion at the weekend when scheduled opponents Ilford Wanderers – the league’s bottom side – decided not to travel to Suffolk for their final fixture. Southwold ended the campaign in fourth position.
