NATHAN Stone's late strike sent Kirkley & Pakefield up to second in the Ridgeons League Premeir Division table as they beat Tiptree United 2-1.

The visitors had fallen behind to a first half penalty converted by Lee Underwood, but drew level just before the break with a spot kick of their own. Chris Henderson was fouled in the box and Kirkley keeper Robert Woodcock stepped up to equalise from the spot.

It remained that way until eight minutes from time, when Henderson set Stone free down the left and he slotted the ball home.

The KP Royals now stand nine points behind local rivals and leaders Lowestoft, who were on FA Vase duty.
