Successful week for Browston’s two men’s teams

The weekend proved successful for Browston men’s teams.

The A team took six points at Wymondham thanks to Vic Moore, Mal French, Terry White and Mike Topping 20-13; Dennis Pratt, Jim Malcolm, Phil Ellis and Mac Skilton 25-17; and Peter Hurren, Ralph Kippen, Tony Bridge and Derek Chumbley 22-19. Browston won 82-70 to go second.

The B beat Roundwood 119-42 for seven points and move to third. Mike Howell, Bruce Granger, Alan Daviss and Mike Harvey won 30-8; John Spooner, John Stanton, David Lowe and Steve Webb won 30-10; Ron Barrett, Dave Hancock, Bill Turner and John Allen won 32-13; and Jon Carter, Ron Castro, Keith Beales and Charlie Toplis won 27-11. Browston won a friendly against Jersey 95-39. John Spooner’s block won 29-9; Bill Turner’s block won 29-10; Sally Webb, John Stanton and Paula Cleeter won 14-11; and Don Cleeter, David Lowe and Pam Spooner won 23-9.
