The most exciting match seemed to be at the Denes High School as inform Waveney Reserves faced Wrentham. Wrentham seemed to be cruising into the second round as they had a 3-1 scoreline ( J McGraine two and an own goal) but Waveney hit back to force extra time, during which they scored three more goals to run out 6-3 winners, with Ray Winney helping himself to a hat-trick.

Pakefield Re-United are having a fine season so far and they knocked out first division Sole Bay Reserves 4-1, which included a hat-trick for Michalski.

The leaders of the second division Ole Frank took first division Pot Black all they way and the match seemed destined for penalties before Pot Black snatched a last gasp goal to win 3-2.

Corton White Horse Seltic won a seven-goal thriller at Ellingham 4-3.

Beccles Caxton Reserves defeated Corton A 3-1 and Lowestoft International won by the same score in their tie with Waveney Gunners. Finally Hopton White Hart and Tudor FC received walkovers as their opponents Oulton Broad and Notley's Reserves and Oxford Arms Reserves had to call off.

Onto the John Moore Shield, and the divisions leading sides all had comfortable wins. Gt Yarmouth Town Hall beat Earsham 5-0, Harleston Town Reserves won 4-0 at Factory Arms and Suffolk Punch ran out 6-1 winners at Marquis of Lorne.

Westhall edged past Blundeston Magpies Reserves 2-1 whilst Kirkley & Pakefield B needed penalties to defeat Corton White Horse Seltic Reserves after the match finished 4-4.
