ANOTHER magnificent innings from Mpho Sekhoto saw Lowestoft Town cruise to victory over North Runcton on Saturday at Denes Oval.

Lowestoft won the toss and put the visitors into bat and this decision was vindicated when Peter Sims ripped through their top order with a brilliant bowling display.

Only C Jonker could make any headway for North Runcton as he hit 24, but even he couldn't cope with the form Sims was in.

The Lowestoft bowler took five wickets in total with his final wicket being that of S Hemeter, who was caught and bowled by Sims.

M Bishop and Sekhoto polished off the North Runcton innings with both men unplayable on several occasions.

The visitors were all out for 116 off 37.2 overs and Lowestoft knew that the match was within their grasp.

However, they couldn't have got off to a much worse start as both B Brice and Joe Larter were dismissed without a run being scored.

If North Runcton thought they were going to stage a fightback they were mistaken as when Sekhoto got to the crease there was only going to be one winner.

The South African hit an effortless 83 and was ably supported by Nathan Garrod who also played his part in the 117-run partnership which saw Town to victory as they reached their target off 29.2 overs and closed in on second-placed North Runcton.
