Two day tournament rounds off indoor season at Lowestoft Railway

Lowestoft Railway Indoor Bowls Club rounded off the season with the two day Easter Tournament, sponsored by brewers Coors.

John Walford was the organiser, aided by Roy Davies and Eddie Alcock.

On Good Friday 16 pairs took part in a round robin format. Two teams finished unbeaten but overall winners were Ray Utting with Ray McCloud on shot difference.

Runners-up were Don Brearly and Jimmy Gooderham, Eddie Alcock and John Cook were third and Roy Davies and Sue Chapelhow fourth.

On Easter Saturday 14 pairs took part again in a round robin format.

Winners were Don Brearly and Jimmy Gooderham, with Ann Johnson and Glenn Rose second and Eddie Alcock and Gary Finch third.

On both days there were some hard fought close games. There were prizes for the lower scoring pairs too.

It was good send off to the players to enjoy the game of bowls on outdoor greens.
