FA Carlsberg Vase fever again surrounds the Crown Meadow as the Blues prepare for their fifth round tie against Hungerford Town.

Anxious eyes were being kept on the weather forecasts as the met men predict horrendous weather conditions leading up to the weekend.

The Town's management and players have no illusions about the task facing them and have had their opponents watched as well as being briefed by north Suffolk colleagues Leiston, who fell to the Berkshire side in the previous round.

The Blues were looking to have a full squad to choose from with no injury problems following last week's game although both Damian Hilton and Jamie Stokeld are cup tied.

As in previous rounds both this season and during last year's epic run to Wembley, the players will be enjoying a pre match breakfast sponsored by loyal fan Maurice at the club prior to the game.

In keeping with the same theme of continuity the game is being sponsored by Barrier LTD with the matchball sponsored by Richard Reeve of Waveney Print.

If the weather does lead to the postponement of this game, the tie will take place the following Saturday meaning the scheduled fixture against Wivenhoe Town will be postponed.

Last Saturday Lowestoft rode their luck somewhat before taking the three points against Tiptree United. Three times the Jammakers hit the woodwork before being seen off by goals from Jamie Godbold and Ally McKenna.

The Reserves progressed into the third round of the Chell Trophy with a two goal victory over Haverhill Rovers Reserves at Hamlet Croft. The victory was assured with first half goals from Craig Lewis and a Gary Williams penalty.

The Reserves were due to visit Leiston Reserves last Wednesday and tomorrow face a trip to Whitton United Reserves.

The Youth team's midweek game was postponed.
