CLUB members and volunteers joined forces over the weekend as Lowestoft Town Cricket Club geared up for the new season.

The club ran a series of works to prepare their Denes Oval headquarters ahead of the new campaign.

And such was the success of the working parties’ efforts on Saturday – as part of the NatWest Cricket Force annual weekend of action – that all the work was completed on the first day.

Among the works carried out was a spring clean of the tea-room, re-painting of the home changing room and kitchen, and repairs and painting around the ground.

A club spokesman said: “Due to the excellent effort of those who attended on Saturday we will not require people to attend on Sunday to perform the ground set-up and refurbishment.

“A big thank you to Neil Brice and Mike Larter who attended the ground all through the week to undertake works that were earmarked to be performed. Well done to all who attended today, it was a fine team effort and also well done to our Cricket Force Coordinator, Debbie Wright, for organising another Cricket Force event so successfully.”
