GARY Warnes showed a new strength of character to fight through successive third set deciders and win all three.

With the first set falling the way of the Arrows in all of his games, Stuart Faulkner, Tom Petifier and Kevin Jones were no push over, but Warnes was on top form and the wins provided a platform for the Critters team to complete a 10-0 feast.

Further tight games between Petifier and Alan Peek and Jones and Chris Trindall made for a closer match than the score line would belie and the Arrows were unlucky to leave empty handed.

The Kites remained on top of the Misfits in their match despite an upset from Jonathon Block snatching the first set from Ken Carter 29-27 and then completing the win in the second to provide the Misfits with their only point of the evening. LCC Shakers also had to settle for a single point against the Sidewaves when all the singles matches went the way of the Waves and only the doubles provided the opportunity the Shakers required for a consolation point.

In the first division Wally Ladmore led the way for the Tables but Trimwise continued to fight back with Phillip Tye providing wins against Darren Swan and Eddie Mason. However it was left to Paul Wright Snr and Debra Faulkner to complete a doubles thriller 21-23, 21-17,23-21 and win the match for Trimwise. Meanwhile Dominators keep ploughing through top division teams, this time burying the Oddbods despite wins for Bob Lamb and Martyn Clarke against Stuart Baxter.

There were also slim pickings for the Conservatives in their Quarter Final draw with the Dominators in the Presidents Cup. Andrew Green, Paul Wilkinson and Stuart Baxter produced an excellent performance to win with a maximum 18 points. They'll now face the LCC Shakers in the Semi Final, while Beacons need to wait for the result of the snowed off Trimwise-Misfits match for their semi opponent.
