Waveney suffered a narrow defeat to a good Mulbarton side at Mulberry Park.
Again missing players they put in a spirited display and were unfortunate not to take at least a point.
Although Mulbarton had plenty of possession it was Waveney who created the best chance of the half as Connor Swan fired wide over the advancing keeper.
Mulbarton took the lead early in the second half from a debatable corner. The ball wasn’t cleared as keeper and defenders missed the cross and the ball hit High on the back and went in.
Man-of-the-match Tom Mawford and Swan both had good opportunities to score but Mulbarton had other opportunities and Sam Clabburn and the defence kept them out.
The equaliser nearly came as Swan saw his header brilliantly saved.
Next up for Waveney in the Anglian Combination Premier Division is a home fixture against Stalham Town (Saturn Close, 2.30pm).
