CHAPPO'S CORNER

THE bad weather has been the same for so many people. It's just the way it is and like I've said before we can't do anything about the weather. It's no good letting it get to you.

We've just got to try to keep spirits high and keep the lads' fitness levels up and train as and when we can and where we can.

As soon as we get back on the pitch we've got to get straight back on to it. There's a lot of football to be played and we've just got to be patient, but the sooner we can get back playing the better.

When we can we've got make sure we're right and no looking for excuses. It's no good saying 'we haven't played for a while so we're going to be rusty', we've just go to deal with it.

It's the same for everyone and it's the people who deal with it the best who will just pick up where they left off and we've got to make sure we're amongst those.

It's going to be tough and we've just got to handle it.

You can whinge and moan and let it get to you but what good is it going to do? It's frustrating for everybody involved in football, supporters, players and managers, but that's just the way it is.

It's frustrating too for people like Andrew Fisk who is suspended - it'll be the longest suspension in history at this rate!

We've been training and we've trained hard and the boys have been really engaging in it.

This break gives the players with injuries an opportunity to rest their legs and rehabilitate and give themselves the chance to get back as quickly as possible and not miss as many games as they thought they would do.

Jack Marsden is making really good progress now from his injury and he's hoping to get the all clear to start light training next week, so we're keeping our fingers crossed on that one.

He's missed all season because of his injury.

Richard Woodrow will be a little bit longer but we're hoping in the next few weeks he's going to be training which is good. Woody featured at the start of the season but has now been out a longer.

Bradley Hough is working on his fitness levels now in training and the reserves but he's back fit again which is good news, but he needs to get his match fitness too.

We're meant to be going to Concord Rangers tomorrow, and if it is on it's going to be a tough game. They're a good side and they're up there and have a lot of quality players at the club.

We're preparing for it to be on and our minds are on that totally.

After that we've got another tough one next midweek, away to East Thurrock, another side at the top challenging.

There's loads of football still to be played this season and lots of points to be won and lost, so we've got to keep our eyes on the ball and focus on each game that comes around.
