Charlotte Warnes, nine, and Kaitlin Constance, 14, train three times a week at Waveney Gymnastics club in Kirkley and are putting the final touches to a very important routine.

Tomorrow (Saturday, May 30), the girls will travel to Peterborough to for the trampolining and tumbling regional development plan - and are hoping to make it through to the national finals and qualify for the national development plan run by British Gymnastics.

And as they will be facing around 1,000 other competitiors, the girls are feeling the pressure ahead of the big day.

Kaitlin, who has been going to the club since she was five and lives in Yoxford, said: “I feel quite nervous but I just love doing something different from everyone else.

“And I’ve met a lot of friends through the club.”

Charlotte, who lives in Beccles, said: “I think it will be all right - the routine is only 10 moves but you have to perform it twice.

“You just have to practice, but I really love it.”

The girls’ coach Danny Manning, head of trampolining at Waveney Gymnastics Club, said he had every confidence in their abilities.

“I’m really proud of both of them - I’ve seen how much they’ve improved during their time at the club.

“We’ve worked hard and I think they can do well. They’re both very dedicated,” he said.
