Tonight the Pakefield venue will host Ruffian on the Stair, the final performance of the Joe Orton classic from the newly formed Nudge Productions.

Mike and Joyce are a poor couple living in a bedsit. Mike is a self-described derelict, ex-boxer Roman Catholic thug from Donegal, who - despite claiming the dole - has a sideline as a proto-white van man, running people down for cash. Joyce is an ex-prostitute, and a protestant from London.

One day while Joyce is alone, Wilson arrives, asking for a room. During the conversation, he terrifies and threatens her, demanding to know where Mike's gun is. It becomes clear that he has been watching the flat for some time and the drama unfolds...

Next Friday the Black Ram Theatre Company perform their version of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest after a sell out run at the Norwich Playhouse.

Facing a lengthy stretch at the work farm penitentiary, boisterous, brawling Randall P McMurphy feigns mental illness and is transferred to a psychiatric hospital.

There he finds a motley group, kept drugged, broken and subservient under the merciless regime of Nurse Ratched. McMurphy rallies the other patients and challenges Ratched's authority, opening their minds to the power of revolution.

The week ends with God Bless the Child, an evening with Billie Holiday.

Set in a small night club, this one woman show takes the audience on an intimate and personal journey, from a misspent youth in Baltimore through to the lavish jazz joints of 1930's Harlem.

Supported by jazz pianist Mike Conliffe the insight into one of America's greatest singers features a selection of Lady Day's greatest songs and darkest secrets.

Written and directed by Mike Levanzin it stars one time former Seagull member, now professional actress and singer, Katrina Beckford, as Billie Holiday.
