A BAND that mixes contemporary jazz with music from around the world returns to the Milestones Jazz Club this Sunday>.
The Philip Clouts Trio descends on the Hotel Hatfield, in Lowestoft, for a showcase of original material influenced by Latin and African jazz and music from New Orleans.
During the late 1980s and 90s South African-born pianist Philip Clouts became respected for his work with seven-piece worldbeat jazz band Zubop. Together they recorded four widely acclaimed albums and toured internationally.
His current trio, featuring Alex Keen and Paul Cavaciuti, is an intensely rhythmic unit which specialises in upbeat and accessible grooves with an infectious feel-good quality that takes the whole world of music as its home territory.
The concert is part of a national tour supported by Jazz Services and will feature music from their recent album Direction South.
Milestones Jazz Club's gigs are held on the first Sunday of every month at the Hotel Hatfield. Doors open at 8pm and admission is 7 and 6 for concessions.
