THE Lowestoft Players have again been recognised for the excellence of their productions.

At the National Operatic and Dramatic Association East annual conference, held in Cambridge, the players swept the board, receiving five top awards for two of their 2010 productions.

The local theatre group will add these to their long list of prestigious awards for shows such as West Side Story, Scrooge, Copacabana and Beauty and the Beast.

The society are in final rehearsals for their forthcoming production of Annie Get Your Gun, at The Marina Theatre from June 7 to 11.

They will be back at the Marina Theatre in September for the Madness musical Our House from September 20 to 24. The January 2012 pantomime will be the classic Cinderella and the May 2012 musical The Sound of Music.

Stephen Wilson, director and performer for The Lowestoft Players said: 'Winning the awards was a great achievement for us. We always put 100pc into every production we do and it is nice to have our hard work rewarded.'
