A FESTIVAL of theatre and comedy will be touring the Waveney area next month. From ghostly tales to street entertainment, children's theatre to stand-up comics and performance poetry to blonde bombshell babes who should know better, the Home Grown Live festival has something for everyone.

It launches at The Racehorse Inn, Westhall, on Thursday, March 10 at 7.45pm with a performance of The Signalman by Common Ground Theatre Company.

The play is also being performed at Blundeston Village Hall on Tuesday, March 15 and at St James South Elmham Village Hall on Friday, March 18 (both 7.30pm).

The festival culminates at The Cut, Halesworth, on Saturday, March 19, with White Room Theatre and their Bite Size Plays, featuring 10-minute plays from around the world.

In between, attractions include The Tinamarinas' Being Gorgeous show at The Angel Inn, Wangford, at 9pm on Saturday, March 12. Also that day, from 1pm, street theatre and circus skills by the Fool Hardy Folk will be performed in Lowestoft town centre.

The fantastic journey of 30,000 plastic ducks and the double life of the man who made them features in Dean's Dad's Ducks, with Dean Parkin, at Lound Village Hall at 7.30 on the Saturday evening.

An evening of stand-up comedy is being performed by the Salt Box Comedy team at the White Swan, Halesworth, on Friday, March 11, and The Three Horseshoes, North Cove, on Sunday, March 13.

On Wednesday, March 16 at 4pm, Garlic Theatre will present Three Billy Goats Gruff at the Castle Inn, Bungay.

Tim Clare's Death Drive, Show and Tell, in which Tim presents an uplifting tale of how a late-night car journey transformed him from cynical loser to happy failure, is at the Rumburgh Buck, Rumburgh, on Thursday, March 17 at 8.30pm.
