A POP icon who is renowned for his leather glove, cat suit and moody hits with catchy choruses, calls into Lowestoft's Marina Theatre this weekend.

Alvin Stardust's pop persona is well known, but the performer has a lot more than just that. He was one of the first rockers in the UK, as part of the Larry Parnes stable, and toured with Joe Brown, Eden Kane and Billy Fury.

He has performed under the names Shane Fenton and Jo Jo Ellis, but Alvin Stardust was born with Pete Shelley's song My Coo Ca Choo.

He went on to score highly in the charts with seven other big hits, but is not just known for this music.

During his career he has also starred in the West End and appeared in many TV programmes, including Hollyoaks, Doctors, Harry Hill's TV Burp and Granada's 1999 cult show The Grimleys.

He is currently touring to promote his album I Love Rock 'N' Roll and will be at the Marina Theatre on Sunday night. For tickets call 01502 533200.
