A VIBRANT young London band comes to Lowestoft this Sunday for a performance at the Milestones Jazz Club.

The Jazz Funk Collective is a dynamic seven-piece band that fuses commercial genres with the fundamentals of jazz. The members met while studying at the prestigious colleges the Royal Academy of Music, Trinity College of Music and Kings College, London, and are led by 22 year old saxophonist and composer Duncan Eagles.

Alongside Duncan is alto saxophonists Sam Eagles and Andrew Jackson, pianist Andy Highmoor, guitarist Leo Appleyard, bassist Max Luthert and drummer Chris Packham.

A concert by the collective references bebop, funk, drum 'n' bass, modal swing and a range of other styles, through their astute arrangements of original material.

Last summer the band completed a sell out tour of Dublin and Ireland and this performance will be their only East Anglian date on their short national tour.

They will perform from 8pm on Sunday at the Hotel Hatfield, Esplanade, Lowestoft. Admission is £7 or £6 for concessions.
