Screamo five-piece Drown The City won the final of this year's Journal-sponsored competition in July and as part of their prize they won the opportunity to perform a headline set at the Oulton Broad venue.

The band beat 10 other local acts to claim the title, after impressive the judges with a high-energy set that mixed self-penned tracks including Vanity Killed the Perfectionist and Hands off my Haribo, with a unique cover of September's dance song Cry for You.

Since then, Damo, Ian, Richard, Haggis and George have gone from strength-to-strength with interest from record labels, a UK tour and the recording of a seven-track EP.

The release of DNA is a Dead Giveaway coincides with tomorrow> night's gig and after that the band hit the road for a week of gigs taking in Hull, Ipswich, Sussex and Stoke, with fellow screamo-act A Poetic Yesterday.

Providing support for this gig will be last year's Battle of the Bands winners Depth. The rockers recently signed for indie-label Rising Records and were happy to step forward to support their friends for this event.
