INDIE-ROCKERS Jokari celebrate their first birthday with a gig at the Brewery Tap in Oulton Broad tomorrow night.

The band will be playing songs from their new album Steel Forest as they look to build support for their entry into the Last Band Standing competition, a national event to help find and launch the UK's greatest unsigned band.

Created by music and fashion industry people who have a genuine interest in the UK music scene, Last Band Standing is a monumental contest that will be the prominent launching pad for bands and artists. Using the online voting system where bands can upload their mp3s and profile details, the general public will then vote over a three month period to determine the ten most popular entries. A panel of judges representing the music and fashion industry will select three finalists from the top ten tracks.

The final three will battle it out at a live gig at The Cockpit in Leeds in November, supporting a well-known headline act. A panel of illustrious music and fashion industry representatives will be present to declare the Last Band Standing winner.

Tomorrow night Jokari will be supported by The Lego Men, an indie rock band from Norwich. Admission is £4.
