AFTER two months of sing-a-rounds, Waveney Folk Club recommences its guest nights this evening.

The fortnightly evenings were enjoyed by an enthusiastic group of singers and guests, but tonight normal service resumes again with the visit of Anglo-Alaskan duo Tania Opland & Mike Freeman.

Tania and Mike will be visiting the club for the fourth time, as they bring their unique sound to Lowestoft once more. They play a number of stringed and blown instruments, and percussion, as they perform songs in a variety of languages.

Together, they combine distinctly separate musical backgrounds, bringing their exuberant music and wild tales to audiences around the world. Tania's voice is smooth and powerful, while Mike drives the rhythm along with a broad range of percussion, including djembe, dholak, bones, congas and mandolin.

Future guest nights at the club are set to include humorous trio Dangerous Curves and traditional storytellers Mick Ryan and Paul Downes. Waveney Folk Club is held at Crown Street Hall, Lowestoft, from 8pm to 11pm alternate Fridays.
