Entertainment for all to enjoy at The Seagull Theatre

There will be plenty of live music and theatrical performances for all to enjoy at The Seagull Theatre during the oncoming weeks.

Tomorrow, between 2pm and 4pm, China Plate Theatre Company presents Blackout, by Ella Grace and Katie Lyons.

Blackout is a new site-specific musical that puts the future of British energy under the spotlight.

Over the course of the week, Ella and Katie will work with local schools and community groups to gather stories and explore local attitudes towards energy.

This first stage of which will become an immersive musical, exploring the energy needs of a growing population, the nuclear power debate and controversial projects.

Admission is free.

While on Sunday January 29, from 4pm, the Kirkley Community Choir and friends will perform a concert The Seagull Theatre.

Kirkley Community Choir launched in 2012 to explore the health and well-being benefits of singing and the positive social aspects of singing as part of a group.

The 60-strong choir meets once a fortnight to sing ‘well-known popular songs with a positive message’. Tickets £5.

On Saturday February 4 at 7.30pm there is live music with a difference as The Bloodshake Chorus take to the Seagull stage as they unearth classic songs from the 50s and 60s. Tickets £7.

On February 8 and 9 from 6.30pm youngsters from the Seagull Youth Theatre club present The Wizard of Oz.

With a cast ranging in age from five to 12-years-old this will be a delightful re-telling of a timeless classic. Tickets £4/£2 (children).

And finally on February 10 at 7.30pm the Seagull Theatre welcomes Richard Digance with support act The Broadside Boys.

Richard Digance will demonstrate why he has been a top acoustic performer and observer of life for 50 years.

Tickets £12.
