Fashion show to aid charity

A COMIC Relief fashion show featuring items from stars like Twiggy, Annie Lennox, Jo Brand and Davina McCall, are going under the hammer as part of a weekend at Walberswick, next month.

A 1960's Groove Night, with the Austin Beats, is to be held in the Village Hall, on Friday, March 6, and commences a weekend of celebrations. Admission is by ticket which may be purchased at £10 each from Collen & Clare Boutique, in Southwold; The Cut, Halesworth; and The Tuck Shop, in Walberswick.

On Saturday at 10am there is a children's day, pony rides, and singalong Mamma Mia film show at 10.30am. Tickets, priced at £5, can be obtained on 07816 575631. There is the opportunity of making clay comic creatures. In the evening, doors opening in The Barn, at 6.30pm, there's an adult double bill of comedy films commencing at 7pm. Tickets cost £10 and may be obtained on 07816 575631 and feature the classic Ealing Comedy “The Titfield Thunderbolt” and a BAFTA winner “Strictly Ballroom”.

Sunday heralds a special day. Firstly don a Red Nose and then get involved in a variety of entertainment and fun. A car booty sale commences at 10.30pm adjacent to The Barn, £15 per pitch. Book on 07816 575631. At 12.30pm in The Barn there will be an auction of celebrity memorabilia.

At 3pm, also in The Barn, Southwold boutique, Collen & Clare does Comic Relief; a special fashion show with donations of clothes and accessories so far recorded from Twiggy, Geri Halliwell, Annie Lennox, Bella Freud, Kirsty Young, Jo Brand, Davina McCall, Kirsty Allsop, Claudia Winkleman, Clive Anderson and Angus Deayton.

All items will be auctioned by compere Dudley Clarke. Tickets, available from Collen & Clare, cost £10 per person.

During the weekend there will also be indoor craft and cake stalls, refreshments and a local photographic exhibition.
