Indy kicks off summer blockbusters

THE Marina Theatre's Summer Film Season kicks off tonight as some of the biggest blockbusters are rolled onto the big screen.

Beginning the Lowestoft theatre's season is Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull (12A), starring Harrison Ford, Karen Allen, Cate Blanchett, Ray Winstone, John Hurt, Jim Broadbent and Shia LaBoeuf.

Beginning the Lowestoft theatre's season is Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull (12A), starring Harrison Ford, Karen Allen, Cate Blanchett, Ray Winstone, John Hurt, Jim Broadbent and Shia LaBoeuf.

Harrison Ford reprises his role as Indiana Jones, as he goes up against Cold War Russians in the race for a priceless artefact. The film will run nightly at 7.30pm until Thursday, with matinee screenings tomorrow and Wednesday at 2.30pm.

On Sunday a special World Cinema presentation comes to Lowestoft as the Bollywood movie ONE, TWO, THREE (PG) is screened at 3pm.

Starring Sunil Shetty, Tusshar Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Upen Patel, it tells the story of three characters who the share name, but live in very different circumstances. One Laxmi Narayan is a young aspiring gangster; another is a car salesman; while another is a lingerie businessman. Each is heading to Pondy for a different reason, but when their messages are mixed up at a hotel reception, utter chaos and confusion ensues.

Other films set to be screened as part of the summer season include The Incredible Hulk, Chronicles Of Narnia - The Prince Caspian, Mamma Mia, Kung Fu Panda and The Mummy - Tomb Of The Dragon.

Live entertainment returns next weekend as the Journal's Carnival Queen competition takes place on the Friday night, while Ray McVay directs the world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra together with Joan Regan, The Moonlight Serenaders, Jan Messeder and Colin Anthony and The Uptown Hall Gang on the Sunday.

Seats for Marina films can be booked in advance or purchased on the door for £3.50, with children and over 60s £2.50.
