This weekend brings a final chance to catch up on some popular family films on the Marina big screen before a host of new movies, special screenings and live events follow in June.

The animated comedy Home (U) runs today at 2pm and 6pm and tomorrow at 4pm.

The new SpongeBob Squarepants adventure, Sponge Out Of Water (U) runs at the Marina today at 4pm and tomorrow at 2pm and 6pm.

Tonight at 8pm brings a final chance to catch Academy Award winner Helen Mirren in Woman In Gold (12A). Tomorrow at 8pm also brings a final chance to see the hugely popular star-packed comedy, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (PG).

Next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 2.30pm, Kate Winslet and Alan Rickman star in the critically acclaimed film A Little Chaos (12A).

Special screenings include a premiere followed by cast Q and A of London Road (15) based on the notorious Ipswich Murders on June 9, a live performance of La Bohéme from the Royal Opera House on June 10, and the National Theatre production of Man And Superman starring Ralph Fiennes on June 28.

After the Lowestoft Players production of Legally Blonde runs from June 2 to June 6, the Marina stage hosts the return of Norfolk’s cultural ambassador, Keith Skipper with an afternoon of mirth and melody on June 7.

Barry Steele presents his popular celebration of Roy Orbison on June 12, Talon perform a host of classic hits by The Eagles on June 13 and on June 14 the winners of BBC Last Choir Standing, Only Men Aloud bring their On The Road Tour to Lowestoft for the first time.

Entertainment of a more adult nature follows on June 18 with the Dreamboys before the hits of rock band Queen are brought to life in Killer Queen on June 19. Classical Brit Award winners Blake return on June 20 followed on June 21 by West End hit The Simon and Garfunkel Story.

Rounding off a busy month sees, for the first time ever in Lowestoft, the 60th Anniversary tour of Agatha Christie classic, The Mousetrap which runs from June 22 to June 27.

Marina film tickets cost £5 for adults with those over 60s and under 25s priced at £4.50. All Marina cinema tickets purchased at least 24 hours in advance cost £4 each. Free parking for Marina Theatre and cinema customers is available every evening from 5.30pm at Battery Green multi storey car park.
