A TOP West End musical is all set for a special return to the east coast next week, as one of the most popular attractions ever staged at Lowestoft's Marina Theatre hits town once more.
Bill Kenwright’s highly acclaimed production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s sparkling family musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will play at the Edwardian venue from next Tuesday, October 19.
Keith Jack, the hugely popular runner-up who finished just behind winner Lee Mead in hit BBC series Any Dream Will Do, takes on the title role, having won the hearts of the nation with his sparkling charisma and sensational singing voice.
And theatre manager, Martin Halliday said: “Once again our audiences will not have to travel hundreds of miles in search of high quality family entertainment, I am delighted and extremely honoured to have been able to secure another visit of this terrific production for the Marina.”
Joseph continues to enjoy huge success across the country and features a lively, energetic company of singers, dancers and actors.
Speaking about the highly-sought- after role, Keith Jack said: “I am delighted to be playing my dream role on tour around the UK, and with the three years’ experience I’ve gained since the TV series I’m really looking forward to bringing something new and exciting to the show.”
Retelling the Biblical story of Joseph, his 11 brothers and the coat of many colours, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat marked the beginning of the legendary partnership between Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.
The score includes Close Ev’ry Door To Me, One More Angel and the unforgettable Any Dream Will Do.
The last time this musical visited the Marina it smashed all previous box office records.
