Music, drama and festive favourites at the Seagull Theatre in Pakefield

A busy few weeks will be showcased with a series of events at the Seagull Theatre in Pakefield.
On Friday, November 24, at 7.30pm, the Open Space Theatre Company presents Suddenly last Summer, by Tennesee Williams.
When a young man dies under mysterious and possibly sordid circumstances, his mother works to conceal the truth, and a young girl is caught up in it all - how can it be resolved? Tickets cost £11/£9/£6 (unwaged).
Cantors’ Theatre School present, ‘Cantors’ Christmas,’ on Saturday, November 25 at 7.30pm. This is a splendid, talent packed variety show for all the family. Tickets £10/£8 (under 12s and OAPs).
On Sunday, November 26, at 7pm, Andy Davis hosts another friendly Karaoke evening in the Seagull foyer bar. New singers always welcomed. Admission free.
From Thursday, November 30 to Saturday, December 2, at 7.30pm, the Seagull Theatre Club present, ‘Self Catering’ – a dark comedy of love and survival. Five strangers survive a plane crash on a remote tropical island. Will they survive each other’s company unscathed? Come along and find out. Tickets £8.
The Seagull will host ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas .... with Frank, Dean and Judy’, on Sunday, December 3, at 7.30pm. Performed by popular swing singers, Paul and Stephen Amer, and a live band, there will be additional exquisite vocals from Ellie Darnell. Slip into crooning festivity with this celebration of classic Christmas swing. Tickets £15/£13.
On Monday, December 4, at 7pm, ‘Seekers and Dreamers’ will be performed. This is an encounter with the Christmas Nativity story through words, images and danceable carols old and new. With readings by regular Seagull performers and music provided by a folk band, not to mention seasonal refreshments, a good night will be had by all. Admission free.
Looking ahead, the Seagull Christmas show, ‘Ebenezer’ – an adaptation of a Dickens’, A Christmas Carol, runs from Thursday, December 14 until Sunday, December 24 at 6.30pm with weekend matinee performances at 2pm. Tickets £10/£9/£7 (group).
