MUSIC Technology students from Lowestoft Sixth Form are once again joining forces to put on a second major live music event.

Earlier this year the students organised the Big Gig, and such was the success of this that they will be returning with a two-date event later this month.

On Tuesday, July 20 and Wednesday, July 21, students from the town's three high schools will perform a wide range of music at Benjamin Britten High School, with Ransom, Put Up or Shut Up, Unknown Pictures and Teenage Glory Days already confirmed to play.

The event offers the students the chance to put into practice what they have learnt under the supervision of course leader Lee Chapman, with former student Nathan Slater stage managing the event. Sponsorship for The Big Gigs comes from Morlings House of Music, Cafe Studios, 2nd Avenue Clothing, Paint It Black Clothing, Maxwells The Barbers, R Cropley Roofing Contractors and Gothic Emerald Clothing Company.

Many more bands are expected to be announced later this month.
