Pirates and the RPO at Marina

THE cinema at the Marina Theatre will return from next weekend with the latest instalment in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, On Stranger Tides.
Fourth in the Pirates series, the film starring Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz and Ian McShane has already grossed £30m worldwide.
Screenings take place at 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday, July 2, 4pm on Sunday, July 3 and 7.30pm on Monday, July 4.
From Tuesday, July 5 to Thursday, July 7, the Marina big screen presents Water For Elephants nightly at 7.30pm, with a matinee on Thursday, July 7, at 2.30pm.
Film screenings at The Marina were put on hold recently while the venue awaited some important technical work.
But other films coming soon include X Men – First Class, Kung Fu Panda 2 and Transformers. And during the summer holidays the venue will be screening a host of major releases, more details of which will be announced next week.
Seats for all Marina films remain priced at £4 for adults, with over-60s and children at £3.
Next Friday sees the latest concert in the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s seventh year of residency entitled Best Of Broadway. Conducted by Matthew Freeman, the programme includes music from Miss Saigon, Hairspray, Les Miserables, Oliver!, The Phantom Of The Opera, Guys & Dolls, Cats, Evita, Wicked, Chicago and many more in a celebration of the very best stage musicals on both sides of the Atlantic.
Joining the RPO will be top vocalists Emer McParland and Graham Bickley.
