Babylon AD is a vision of the future where life is cheap, resources are scarce and blood sports are the entertainment of the masses.

Mercenary Toorop (Vin Diesel) is hired to transport a cloistered girl, Aurora (Melanie Thierry), across the frozen north to sanctuary in the US. The package is more than she seems, however, and several interested parties want to get their hands on her.

There is plenty of action as Diesel wades through the film with fists and firearms including a cage fight, an Arctic chase sequence and a shootout in Manhattan traffic.

Other screenings at the Hollywood this week include Step Brothers (15), Hellboy 2 The Golden Army (12A), Mama Mia (PG), Get Smart (12A), Wall-E (U), Star Wars The Clone Wars (PG), Space Chimps (U), the Mummy Tomb of The Dragon Emperor (12A).
