MILESTONES Jazz Club features the return of a band described by critics as “one of the most exciting groups in recent years” this Sunday.

The club, which is held at the Hotel Hatfield in Lowestoft, welcomes Compassionate Dictatorship.

Co-led by guitarist/composer Jez Franks and saxophonist Tori Freestone, the band includes modern jazz, folk and world music, performing original compositions from jazz composers such as Chris Potter and Kurt Rosenwinkel.

The quintet is also driven by two leading young players on the London scene - Danish double bass player Jasper Høiby and drummer Ben Reynolds.

This is the band's only East Anglian date on a national tour to promote their debut album Coup d'Etat, which has been described as “an eclectic amalgam of improvisation, strong melodic themes and rhythmic twists”.
