Sax trio at jazz club




Milestones Jazz club in Lowestoft will be hosting London-based trio Partikel on Sunday, April 3.

Partikel are renowned across Europe as a result of having a feverish live schedule over the past few years and were described by Jazzwise magazine as “one of the hottest young bands on the UK scene”.

This particular performance will feature the familiar trio of Duncan Eagles (saxophones), Max Luthert (double bass) and Eric Ford (drums and percussion), as well as special guest Benet McLean (violin).

Mr Eagles said: “The gigs have been going really well and everything has been running smoothly.

“It is great to play our own music live, as it is rewarding to visit new places and receive people’s responses.

“This is the fourth time I have played Milestones Jazz, it was the first gig I did outside of London.

“Milestones is a fantastic venue, which is very intimate, and we are all looking forward to playing.”

Since 2009, this sax-led trio have developed a reputation as one of the UK’s most in demand bands.

Their new CD, String Theory, furthers the argument.

String Theory, sees them pushing their own compositional boundaries by teaming up with four talented string players, fusing their love of jazz, rock and world music to create music that showcases an array of sound

Influenced by the contemporary New York scene their hard to pin down grooves create avenues of excitement at every turn.

Miletsones Jazz Club is held at the Hotel Hatfield in Kirkley. Doors open at 8pm.
