Seagull's week of music and theatre

A HIGH quality quartet, youth production and intriguing murder mystery take to the Seagull's stage over the next week.

Tonight at 7.30pm sees the return of the popular Blythe String Quartet to the Pakefield theatre.

Tonight at 7.30pm sees the return of the popular Blythe String Quartet to the Pakefield theatre.

The quartet have established themselves as favourites at the theatre and return to play a selection of pieces ranging from Vivaldi's Four Seasons through to their own take on Meatloaf.

The Papa Youth Theatre takes to the boards tomorrow at 7.30pm as they perform The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde.

The group is one of an increasing number to have found a home at the Seagull Theatre.

The week of entertainment concludes with Lesley Darbon's adaptation of a classic Agatha Christie murder mystery.

In a quiet country house in the middle of England lives a happy family. One morning the newspaper announces that a murder will take place that night in their home. Who will be the victim? Is the murderer already in the house? It's up to the sweet and steely Miss Marple to solve the crime.

SM Productions' Murder is announced will play on Wednesday, Thursday and next Saturday evenings at 7.30pm, with a special matinee at 2pm next Friday.

Next weekend will also see the return of Paul Phoenix as he pays tribute to The King. Elvis - what if? will be performed on Sunday, August 1 at 7.30pm.
