A busy programme of events is planned at the Seagull Theatre in Pakefield over the next couple of weeks.
From 7pm on Thursday, March 22 and Friday, March 23, the Seagull Youth Theatre will present their charming adaption of ‘The Faraway Tree’ by Enid Blyton.
Join the youngsters in a magical world consisting of Moon-Face, the Saucepan Man and Silkie the Fairy, not to mention Mr Watzisname. Tickets cost £4 for adults and £1 for children.
On the following day, Saturday, March 24, older members of the Seagull Youth Theatre are set to present ‘Saturday Night Live’, a variety show featuring sketches, dance and a little bit of magic too. Showtimes are at 2pm and 7pm, while tickets cost £4 for adults and £1 for children.
From Thursday, March 29 to Saturday, March 31, the Seagull Club will present ‘Ladies in Lavender’ from 7.30pm.
Based on the hit film starring Judi Dench and Maggie Smith, the show tells the story of two sisters whose peaceful life is delicately challenged by the arrival of a young shipwrecked sailor. Tickets cost £8.
Tuesday, April 3, sees This Egg theatre company present ‘Me And My Bee’ at 7pm.
The family comedy focuses on climate change, its effect on bees and what can be done to plant the seed for change and save the world. Tickets are priced at £5, or £4 each for groups of eight or more.
On Friday, April 6, the theatre presents shadow puppet show ‘Susannah and the Sunflower’ at 3pm.
What do you do if you love flowers but you’re hopeless at gardening and you’ve spent all your money on seeds? Sell the cow! Following in the footsteps of Jack and the Beanstalk, Susannah will take the audience on a shadow adventure where nothing is real but your dreams.
The show is set to be a celebration of the magic of growing things and dreaming big. Tickets cost £3 for adults and £1 for children.
