Seaside drama to be launched in Pakefield

A REGIONAL theatre company has announced that it will première its latest touring production at the Seagull Theatre, right.

Eastern Angles will be unveiling Up Out o’ the Sea at the theatre in Pakefield, before touring community centres, town halls, theatres and tithe barns in Beccles, Sibton, Halesworth, Southwold and many other venues in the East of England.

The poignant new play, full of laughter and tears, shows how a past tragedy can cause ripples that radiate far into the future.

When Carrie turns up in a small coastal town armed with a laptop and a string of awkward questions, her arrival sparks a mixture of emotions among the residents.

Fuelled by a trickle of myths and memories and a desire to discover the real story behind the town’s famous lifeboat disaster, she sets about un-picking the past.

l Up Out o’ the Sea is written by Andrew Holland and directed by Ivan Cutting.

It will be performed at the Seagull Theatre on March 4 and 5. For tickets call 01502 589726.
