The judges have had a very difficult job in choosing the winners in four incredibly competitive heats, and now the competition is set to get even fiercer as the acts go head-to-head for a place in the final.

There are just a few tickets left for the semi finals, which take place at 7pm tomorrow and on Sunday.

Next Thursday, Yakety Yak returns to the Pakefield theatre with a production of Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights.

Adapted by April De Angelis, the play tells the tempestuous story of free spirited Catherine and dark, brooding Heathcliff. Inseparable as children, their affection deepens into passionate love but Cathy, allowing her head to rule her heart, marries wealthy Edgar Linton. Heathcliff flees broken hearted, only to return seeking terrible vengeance on those he holds responsible, with epic and tragic results.

The company's production of Little Women proved a hit earlier in the year, and there will be three chances to catch their latest offering, with performances nightly at 7.30pm from Thursday.

Also performing next weekend will be the Seagull Theatre Club, who present Inspector Drake's Last Case, and Let the people decide, a topical panel show with laughs, presented by Barry from Watford.

Later this month, The Blythe String Quartet will be performing a concert of classical and contemporary music at the theatre.

The show, on Friday, July 23, is called From Vivaldi to Meatloaf and features a range of music including Vivaldi's Four Seasons.
