A very special event will be performed at St Mark’s Church in Oulton Broad this weekend.

One Man & His Music will see local musician Stewart Green presenting a concert of music consisting entirely of his own compositions.

As part of his 70th birthday celebrations, Mr Green – who was an ex-member of the Band of HM Coldstream Guards and for many years a peripatetic woodwind teacher for Suffolk County Music Service that ultimately saw him become a Senior Woodwind Tutor and harp teacher – will perform in concert this Saturday, October 27 at St Mark’s Church.

Having been a regular congregation member and performer at St Mark’s for more than 40 years, Saturday’s programme presents an appealing selection of music for harp, oboe, cor anglais and bassoon in a variety of styles including light music and jazz. Composed over a span of 60 years, the evening will feature a few first performances, including three ContraDances for solo bassoon – completed earlier this year – and the very first composition from 1958. The concert starts at 7.30pm, with admission free with a retiring collection in aid of charities.
