Music, comedy and variety aplenty will take centre stage at the Seagull Theatre in Pakefield in the week ahead.

Tonight (Friday), at 7.30pm, haunting, dark sounds from Gothic and Celtic origins will be showcased by Australian singer, Beck Sian – who is a cousin to Kate Bush – and acclaimed UK guitarist, Jonathan Kershaw.

Together these talented performers will create some melancholic sounds as part of their Beautiful Ghosts and Bizarre Tales tour. Tickets cost £8.

Tomorrow, at 7.30pm, Second Side will present When you cure me – a funny play about being young, in love and rather poorly. This moving story revolves around two 17-year-olds facing big questions, negotiating adult conventions and stumbling on truth and humour in deep places. Suitable for people aged over 14. Tickets cost £10/£5 students.

Next Tuesday, at 7.30pm, Jules Maxine will host the fortnightly variety night in the Seagull Theatre bar. With a relaxed evening of comedy, music and variety guaranteed, this is a great opportunity to view up-and-coming talent and is also an ideal stage for performers keen to try out their material on a live and appreciative audience. Admission is free and local artists who would like to perform should visit www.facebook.com/seagullvariety or email julesmaxine@gmail.com for details.

Next Friday and Saturday (February 20/21), at 7.30pm, DPA Productions present The diary of Adrian Mole. This is a charming adaptation of Sue Townsend’s best selling novel of 13-year-old Adrian growing up and growing wise through every day dramas and modest adventures. Tickets cost £7.
